the company initially set out to effect improvements internally, but managing the change generated only limited success and management engaged lean manufacturing solution, Inc., a hamilton, Canada-based consulting firm to train Ultrafit's teams in lean manufacturing concepts and methodologies and to facilitate the teams throughout the change process. Shopfloor employees and support personel from scheduling, supervision, engineering and maintenance met to look at processes and break them down into components. They measured and mapped the manufacturing processes and used a video camera to record an actual product changeover on th bender.
