The Do portion of the process should explicitly perform all of the functions addressed in the process definition. The majority of detailed Do and Check Procedures discussed earlier will be performed here. In evaluating the process, it should be clear how the desired result will be achieved.
These are the check procedures shown in Figure 3-2, the Process Workbench. They are performed here to ensure that each component of the product is built correctly. There are rework procedures to address components that are not correct. For example, the Acceptance Testing process may specify that each functional requirement be tested at the upper and lower boundary levels. Each time a test case fails on these boundary tests, it will be recycled for correction.
For most IT organizations, the documentation on processes is focused on the Do Processes. In evaluating this portion of the process, it is important to ensure that the proper Check Procedures also exist.
