5.4.2 Findings and deductions. Only one of the 21 companies (4.76 percent) obtained
assurance on the additional information that was published on its web site regarding
sustainability issues (this equates to 1.6 percent of all the companies in the population).
It is disappointing that the vast majority of the companies do not enhance the
credibility of the information on these electronic mediums of communication, which is
becoming far more widely utilised. By assuring information relating to sustainability
issues on their web sites, companies enhance the transparency and credibility of
information reported to their stakeholders (Table IV).
