Wow I thought Australia was pretty bad when it comes down to dealing with border immigration but it appears the UK could be worse. It's obvious this woman is extremely upset by the UK immigration laws, to the extent that she is going through a lot of trouble to file this lawsuit from her country. £2m is a lot, but it must have been quite a frightening experience to be spending a night in jail not knowing what is going to happen to you, you are not allowed to speak to anyone, and knowing that you have no rights as a person let alone as a woman. Surely not a single human being on this planet appreciates this treatment if it happens to them or their own. It's amazing to see how the immediate public reaction to this kind of news in a so called developed society is plagued with a tone of racism, sexism, xenophobia, and backward thinking. Of course people don't often do their research and end up reading between the lines and fall into the deep hole of 'I believe everything the press says'. Hmmm...I wonder why I can't find other UK news site reporting this story. Nevertheless, it would be interesting to see how this case uncovers the gap between countries immigration laws, and how transparent the immigration process really is.
