The water quality values did not vary significantly throughout the experimental period during cultivation (Table 2) of L. vannamei, with temperature values ranging from 28 to 30°C, pH between 6 and 9, and dissolved oxygen above 4 mg/L according to Boyd (2002). This same author recommends 2.5% salinity as pattern for the achievement of greater shrimp growth, also emphasizing that this species is adapted to lower salinity levels.
