Solid media contained, besides the above-indicated ingredients,
20 g L1 agar, and cation tolerance experiments were
carried out at pH 3.6 in medium supplemented with NaCl,
KCl, LiCl, CsCl or hygromycin B. In the case of liquid media,
yeast cells were inoculated (OD550 nm 0.01) and batchcultured
with orbital agitation (200 r.p.m.).
