The prototype of solar tracking is has been designed and
assembled as shown in Figure 9.
For experiment is using an
artificial light with intensity similar to daylight as 50000–
70000 lumens.
The most important for the experiment is sunsensor
calibration, because it is used to sensing angle of the
sunlight appropriately.
Calibration procedure is sun-sensor
facing perpendicularly to the artificial light, then varying angle
among the sun-sensor and the lights.
From this calibration
obtained the row data for all condition as shown in Table 3.
Variable FD in the table is the voltage output of photodiode.
The data’s then save into memory of microcontroller as
database, which it can be used later during operation to
compare with the sun-sensor measurement.
The problem of sensing light is frequently changed the output voltage of the
sun sensor, so we are difficulty in determining when the dark
and when the light of.
To overcome it was determined the
lower and upper limit as 0.1 volt for darkness and 2.5 volt for
luminous
