Ruksénas et al (2014) and Muller et al (2014) developed a
high-level computerised model for analysing and exploring
safety-critical tasks such as setting up infusion pumps and
using computer technology to implement training courses,
taking stresses and distractions into account.The potential for
user errors and time needed for a user to complete tasks are
important areas of concern. Perhaps these or similar testing
techniques that look at both the infusion pump and the user
may develop into an international standard.Manufacturers will
need to certify in some way that their infusion pump design
has been independently tested,taking into account both design
software and the person using the pump before being placed
on the market
