1. Organise physical storage according to standard storage operations, and categorise inventory items on how often they are needed and how much value they bring to the company, so as to optimise inventory flow.
2. Analyse all aspects of logistics to determine the most cost-effective or efficient means of storing and delivering materials.
3. Manage the benefits and costs of storage and inventory to minimise the space used to store inventory and to distribute it to the production team by prompt delivery. Report obsolete and slow-moving items to management.
4. Perform inventory cycle counts, spot checks, and track and analyse cycle count performance variances.
5. Gather and report the status of inventory in cold storage to management.
