Fig. 5 describes the effect of twisted area on floating behavior of
an artificial PVDC film with and without ozonation process. The
twisted area was estimated visually during the period of study.
The ozonation was conducted for 10 min and observed that, the
large part of PVDC films were floating on the surface even though
the PVDC films have been twisted from 0% to 25% area. The reason
behind this is that there was an entrapment of air on the surface of
non-twisted CP films (i.e., inner and outer surface areas of twisted
CP films). The air was not able to remove even at 2 min of mixing
on the surface of films. Whereas, the entrapment of air in the films
was easily removed at 10 min of ozonation with 2 min of mixing. It
was observed that only 20% PVDC films floated with 100% twisted
area at 10 min of ozonation. Furthermore, only 10% PVDC films
floated after continuing the ozonation up to 30 min. In fact, the
PP and PE films were unable to settle by twisting and mixing without
ozonation condition was observed during the period of the
study.
