III. THE ZPU PROCESSOR
The ZPU processor is the only lightweight parallel architecture
known to us which satisfies the need for a continuous
example beginning at the circuit level and also being capable
of running a simple operating system. There are also other
designs, for example the Zet processor [11] which is an
open implementation of the x86 architecture. Although it
can directly execute x86 code, it lacks a designflow for IC
