Self-Test.
Most defibrillators perform an automated self-test function when the unit is turned on. In addition, many defibrillators have autotest capabilities capabilities that are accessed through a configuration menu that typically requires hidden keystrokes. Such features should be exercised and verified when present.
Time/Data Settings.
Verify that the time and date settings on the defibrillator are correct and they appear with a printed ECG strip.
