Was using Windows 7 for a while now, GTA 5 was running fine, altho my PC is like 7 years old. (Q9450@3.6GHz, 570GTX, 4GB RAM). The settings that i use under Windows 7 are a mix between mid and high @ 1080P, and i have like 40-50 FPS, and thats really good, no stutter or anything.
Today, i wanted to give Windows 8.1 a try, formated my PC, installed Windows 8.1, new Drivers etc, everything is up to date. But somehow, i get some big big stuttering issues, i see my CPU Load goes from 90% to 10%, when this happens, the frames drop to 5 FPS, and the game needs like 10 seconds to get back up to 40-50 frames, i tried alot of settings like changing to DX10, or to set the Task to High in the taskmanager, but it doesnt work.
Anyone out there, who tested this? Or any benchmark links, that show me that there is a difference Windows 7 and Windows 8? It seems like, im going back to Windows 7, if i cant find a fix for that. Its really annoying.
Ps: The game is installed on a (HDD) Samsung Spinpoint F3! Sorry for not writing it earlier :)
