There is no defined methodology or road map available for actual implementation of
a LEED project. While the USGBC provides a number of resources, including reference
guide and workshops, to understand the LEED rating system, it does not necessarily
outline steps on how to lead a LEED project. Even though there are some research
studies that identify the importance of the management and leadership in a green
building project (e.g. see Robichaud and Anantatmula, 2011; Bossink, 2007), they lack
in depth when explaining the leadership role required for such a project. With an
ultimate view to identify the leadership role required in a LEED project, this paper will
next discuss leadership in general management and in construction next.
