The optimization results showed that the two-stage evaporative
cooling system is a feasible system to be implemented in Lebanese
office spaces since it achieves the same level of thermal comfort as
a traditional single-stage evaporative cooling system but at lower
unning cost due to personalized cooling. The reduction in energy
consumption during the summer season was 16.15% while the
eduction in waterconsumption was 26.93%. Furthermore, the two
tage system resulted in lower relative humidity levels in the space
at lower regeneration temperatures compared to the single-stage
ystem where the reduction in the space’s relative humidity due to
he operation of the two-stage system ranged between 4.33% and
11.55%. Finally, personalized cooling allows the occupants to indi
vidually control their thermal comfort level rather than having the
entire space fixed at a low set point temperature.
