lines lay close together and were nearly straight. Long offset data remains valuable for imaging deeper structures
as well as dipping reflectors. Cross-dip-analysis revealed a bright diffractor located near the base of the
Vihanti volcanic basin at 1.5 km depth. The seismic data allow a geological interpretation in which the
Vihanti structure has developed through significant thrust faulting and displacement of the lithological contacts.
Gentle folds that were formed prior to faulting are visible as undulating reflectivity in seismic sections.
The reprocessed seismic section indicates a potential deep extension of the ore-hosting altered volcanic and
calc-silicate rocks previously unexplored
