In order to diminish the cooling demand in today's built environment, to achieve the desired air quality and to augment the thermal comfort of the occupants, it is necessary that researchers make careful efforts not to neglect the effect of types of climate on the electricity consumption of air conditioners. Besides, climate change has an important effect on the cooling load of the buildings. In general, most of the studies have been conducted in the tropics and are more focused on investigating the building energy analysis instead of the air conditioner system performance. Hence, further studies should be carried out in the tropics regarding the effects of climate change on the performance of air conditioning systems.
