Gross external observations of several bullfrogs collected at the ongoing kill event (7 and 8 April)
demonstrated reddened (petechial)
areas along the ventral surface from head to abdomen and a reddened swollen vent (Fig. 1)
, but not all specimens had these external lesions. Internally,
the liver of bullfrog and southern leopard tadpoles exhibited a creamy mottled brown-pink color.
