1. Soil organic matter represents an accumulation of partially decayed and partially synthesized plant and animal residues. The organic matter content of a soil is small, varying from 2 to 6% by weight in typical well-drained mineral soils. Organic matter function are :
- as a “granulator” of mineral particles;
- source of two impotent mineral elements, P and S;
- main source of energy for soil organisms
