In some cases, the performers may serve as oracles, providing information from the spirits for the audience. In such cases, when the dancers awake from possession later they may say that they remember nothing from the performance. Often the performers become easily angered when dancing, especially when possessed, and so they may charge members of the audience who have taunted them.Dancers wear costumes reminiscent of classical Javanese style, including pointed decorations on the ears, and traditional Javanese headgear (compare to what we saw at Candi Sukuh, for instance).
