MDA and H2O2 content of tomato seedlings
There was no significant difference in the contents of MDA and
H2O2 between the not and AC plants under water stress (Fig. 4).
The MDA content was slightly decreased at the 1st day, and then
was markedly increased at the 2nd and 3rd day after water cessation
in all treatments. The MDA contents in both not and AC plants
were significantly decreased by EBR application, compared with
the controls.
The H2O2 contents in both not and AC plants were significantly
increased after water cessation. However, the H2O2 contents in
both not and AC plants treated with EBR were decreased at the 1st
day, and then increased in the following 2 days after water cessation.
Moreover, the H2O2 contents in both not and AC plants treated
by EBR were significantly lower than the controls after water cessation
(Fig. 4). These results showed that lipid peroxidation levels
in tomato plants were increased during water stress and they were
significantly alleviated by EBR application
