The composition and operation principle of the gas temperature control system of the HCWT is shown in Fig.1.
The overall system consists of the fuel supply subsystem and the control subsystem. Fuel supply subsystem consists of motor-pump, variable frequency driver (VFD), electro-hydraulic proportional flow rate control valve
(EHPFV), solenoid valves, pipeline and gear flowmeter etc. It supplies the aviation kerosene in which flow rate meets the requirements for the combustor of the HCWT. The operation procedure of the fuel supply subsystem is as follows: firstly, starts the system and supplies fuel for the igniter, then, supplies fuel for the combustor after the success of the ignition and closes the ignition fuel circuit. The control subsystem consists of industrial personal computer (IPC), programmable logic controller (PLC) etc. Where IPC is the remote controller and PLC is the field controller. A flow rate signal is sent to the PLC by a flowmeter, and the temperature signal is sent to
temperature acquisition by thermocouple, then these signals will be sent to IPC by 485 bus. Considering the operation ability of PLC is limited, the specific control algorithm is completed in IPC, and then IPC will send the control commands to PLC and achieve the temperature closed loop control by controlling VFD or EHPFV.
