( MLD ) has been reported to reduce acute edema following an ankle sprain and attenuate inflammatory edema resulting from a (radial distal) fracture in cases of musculoskeletal disease. The effect of (MLD) on patients after (TKA) has been reported for two randomized controlled trials. In one study, MLD was performed until the fourth day after surgery. The primary endpoint for this study was range of motion ( ROM ) . (MLD) was performed until the seventh day after surgery in the second study and was compared with the use of hypnosis in the placebo group. The primary endpoint was swelling on 7 days and 3 months after (TKA). No reduction in postoperative swelling was observed after 7 days or 3 months, and there was no significant difference in reported pain between groups.
