The first aim of the present work is to determine the gasification
kinetics behavior of straw semi-chars and provide data on semichar-
CO2 reactivity using the TGA methodology. Another aim is to shed light on the influence of the pyrolysis temperature, semichar
particle size, pyrolysis atmosphere and characteristics of
semi-char on the gasification reaction with CO2. Three mathematical
models, the RPM (random pore model), UCSM (unreacted core
shrinking model), and IM (integrated model), are well known for
their use in modeling char gasification. Kinetic parameters are estimated
using the three models. The imitative effects of the three
models were compared. It is expected that this study will be useful
in understanding the gasification process of biomass semi-char and
providing the information required for the design and operation of
a gasifier.
