2.1 Multiset Selection
This operator chooses the sub-population that will be reproduced
to make a new population through the genetic operators of
recombination and mutation. By expanding the MP to SP, Figure
1, we can use traditional selection operators (tournament
selection, proportional selection or ranking selection) or any
improved selection operator [13]. When the operator allows the
selection of the same individual several times, the mating
population will contain MI and the number of copies will reflect
the degree of fitness of the genotype. The number of copies of the
fittest individuals tends to be larger than the remaining elements.
No other form of multiset adaptation was used in this paper for the
selection operator.
