We seem to have heard a lot about The Walking Dead spinoff, which is set to launch soon, but we still know very little about it.
However, it has today been confirmed that the spinoff has landed a director for the pilot episode, which is pretty exciting. Head on inside for all the details…
Okay, so to begin with, we know that Adam Davidson will direct the pilot episode. Some of you may know the name, some of you may not. In case you don’t, he’s worked on a a few different shows including Fringe, Community, and Parenthood, so he’s got some experience under his belt.
Even though he is only confirmed to direct the pilot at this stage, he has an extremely important job to take on. The pilot episode is integral for any series. Not only can the one episode be make or break the series, but it sets the pace for the remainder of the season in many ways. In one sense, it sets the foundations.
At present, we don’t know when the pilot will be filmed, but it should be filmed before the end of the year, so we may even see something from the spinoff as early as next year. We can’t imagine the spinoff having a fall premiere though, due to the similarities between both The Walking Dead and the spinoff. Although it will be separate, and won’t overlap, a lot of the zombie themes will be the same. Some shows have done it in the past, mind – The Vampire Diaries and The Originals is just one example.
As we mentioned at the top of the article, we seem to have heard a lot about the show, due to the anticipation, but we don’t know much about it, which isn’t that odd for a show that’s as highly anticipated.
From the little facts that have been released, we know that the show will be completely different from the original. There will be similar themes, which can’t be helped I suppose, but it will be a separate series.
Are you looking forward to the spinoff? Let us know in the comments, below…
