Apricot (Purunus armeniaca L.) is frequently grown in the warm parts of the terrestrial regions in Turkey. However, this plant is rather sensitive to the spring frost, which makes it possible for it to be grown for commercial purposes only in some specific climates. These fruit trees are usually grown between 25 and 55 latitudes in the north and south hemispheres [12]. There were 13 million apricot trees in Turkey in 1997, with the total crop being 306 thousand tons.
