The HSV color space has been defined as a color model
representation based on the perceptual notions used by the
human visual system for identifying color information. H
stands for hue and is defined "the degree to which a stimulus
can be described as similar to or different from stimuli that are
described as red, green, blue, and yellow"[8]. S stands for
saturation and represents the quantity of white contained by a
color. V stands for value and represents the quantity of black
contained by a color.
