Fig. 6 also shows that, composting of the solid fraction of digestate exacerbated the damage potential, compared to drying. For example, in case of composting (Base LS-E(W)), the estimated impacts on human health (HH) and ecosystems diversity (ED) increased by 600% and 200%, respectively (cf. Base LS-D(W)) due to the increased impacts on climate change (CC) and agricultural land occupation (ALO) impact categories discussed in Section 3.3. The CC impact category is integrated into HH damage potential, whereas ALO influences ED (Appendix e Table A5).
