Have tact and diplomacy
Always be aware of other people's feelings, regardless of their situation, country or culture. Never assume that someone has not understood something and never, ever speak louder to compensate for a language barrier. English may be their second language, but they're not deaf.
Being honest does not mean being tactless. Think before you speak to avoid creating any awkward situations. Never criticize and never discuss divorce, death or politics.
