This would imply that OC enhances project performance in exploitative settings by increasing
the shared understanding and common values of project
goals and, as a consequence, are likely to increase project
efficiency and performance. In addition MC, including the
focus on detailed performance evaluation and target deviations,
ensures discipline and defines project boundaries,
and is therefore likely to make the team aware of scarce
resources, to reduce costly errors and thereby safeguard
project performance in exploratory innovation projects
(Chenhall and Morris, 1995).
