a. Opinion on incentives to publish in IR
In order to identify the incentives of authors for publication
in IR, the response of Users’ on the following factors
was collected.1
a Wider exposure;
b Quick dissemination;
c Audience Accessibility;
d Reviewer Comments posted;
e Counted among quality publications.
In order to analyze the data, a statistical technique,
i.e., Factor Analysis was used. Factor Analysis is applied in
two situations e First, to reconstruct the result from the
original data by identifying small number of factors that
explain most of the variance observed in the much larger
number of variables. And, second, to screen variables for
subsequent analysis, like for performing regression analysis.
In this study, Factor Analysis has been used to
generate common factors from the original variables.
The Factor Analysis results are presented in Table 7.
Factor Analysis presented in Table 7 has reduced the five
incentives into two factors. First factor may be called as
Wider Readership and consists of factors namely, Wider
Exposure, Quick Dissemination, and Audience Accessibility,
and Second factor encompass the variables dealing with
the Quality Aspect, containing factors namely, Reviewer
