The secondary cooling of continuous casting affects
the billet quality directly. Some qua"lity defects
such as internal crack, surface crack; .bulge and offsquare
are created or aggravated by i.tCJ]~ The target
water flowrate of the advanced secondary cooling is
calculated by model. And it is one of the important
performance indexes that whether the actual water
flowrate is consistent to the target water flowrate
and whether the trackability of dynamic water flowrate
is well[2]. The variation of casting speed during
the start casting is severe. The casting speed changes
from 0 to 1. 5 m/min during 30 s , which is one
challenge for the adj usting performance of the secondary
cooling control system of continuous casting.
One brief introduction for the designed secondary
cooling control system of continuous casting is presented
firstly. Secondly, the PlO controller is designed
based on fuzzy self-adaptive theory and the
spray test system is set up according to the actual
secondary cooling system of continuous casting on
