dosageratesofbottomashtoimprovea fine-grained soil.Unconfinedcompressiontestshavebeenconductedtomeasurethestrengthparameters
consideredinthemixturesofsoilþbottomashforwhichthebottomashdosageswere0,5,10,15,20,25,and30%bydryweightofthemixture.The
effective dosagerates,basedonthestrengthparameters,have been evaluatedprimarilybymultiple comparisons andCohen's d. Theresultsindicatethat
whilethereisasignificantstrengthdevelopmentwith “moderate” to “strong” sizesontheuntreatedsoil,duetothe30%bottomash(po0.05,Cohen's
d41.15),thestrengthisinsignificantlychanged(increasedordecreased)belowthe30%dosage(p40.05,Cohen's dr0.41).Itisfoundfromthe
experimentalanalysisthatafactorialapproachandaneffectsizeestimation comparewellinthedecision-making.Itissuggestedfromtheresultsthat
bottomashcanbeadequatelyaddedtosoilinthestabilizationforbothimprovement(i.e.,at30%dosage)andreplacement(i.e.,below30%dosage).The
proposeduseofbottomashwouldalsobebeneficialforrecyclingandthesustainable developmentoftheenvironment.
