First I would like to tell you that in my house’s Air Condition ( 5 units), I only use Daikin as my supplier(Toto Air Center Co., Ltd.) often suggested and I’m quite happy for using them . Last April was my 5th to change to Daikin because my old 4-Head ceiling unit in my bed room is broken (GE from the USA) which have been using for more than 15 years. And again with my supplier suggested Daikin was my best choice and they installed the same 4-Head ceiling type model FHC24NUV2S for me on April 8th 2015. After 2-3 days, My wife and I felt that the condenser unit have loud noise so we try to contact to Toto, but it was a Songkran, the big holidays for Thailand, and we have to contact them again on the 16th which during the holidays, my family also on holidays.
Toto came in on April 17th or 18th (not sure on the date) and agreed that the condenser is shaking but because the shaking came from inside of the unit, Toto then said that need to have people direct from Daikin to come and take a look as it need to open to see inside.
Daikin staff came in on April 24th and after checking everything, the technician told me that the unit is shaking because the way Toto installed not correct, the unit should set tilt (I think he set it to 100 degree) because if put in normal (90 degree) the unit may shake…Wow! Luckily, I also have exactly the same model of condensing unit (which have been using it for more than 2.5 years) installed in my living room (also 4-Head ceiling) and ask him why the same model is not shaking and no need to tilt., he said the old model built stronger with thicker frame and structure…that’s why the new model shake (because cheaper materials). After the technician finished, his report said that everything normal and the condenser unit was not correctly level and have adjusted everything normal. I didn't agreed and wrote a note in that report that the condenser still shaking more than normal which can easily compare with my old condenser unit (same model) that I've been used for more than 2 years and please consider change the new one.
After complained to Toto, they told me that the technician was not direct from Daikin and he was a subcontractor which Daikin will send their engineer to check…good!
Daikin engineer team came on May 7th, now this team I’m quite happy with them as they adjusted the level to be normal 90 degree and try their best to adjust until I think they have done their best. The condenser even quieter than the tilted one. Anyway, I still wasn't satisfy with the result as my old unit (2.5 Years) still much less of the vibrating. The engineer said to me that the more shaking should coming from the rubber mounting which the old one that I have was hard and rectangle shape where my new rubber mounting is pyramid shape and he said that the rubber mounting normally supply by the agent whom I bought and not from Daikin. So, I said if that’s the case, I’m willing to try and ask them to please go to buy one exactly like my old one (rectangle) and I will pay for that which they didn’t.
Finally, they reported that the unit seemed normal with some noise and vibrating which not accepted by customer when comparing with the old one and requesting to replace the new one.
Please consider the following points and opinions;
1. I've told about this matter within 4 working days (it was 8 normal days with only 5 usage days).
2. I think it is normal and common sense that more the vibration means more wear/damage and alignment probably not correctly done.
3. I've asked to see if this entire model are shaking likes this, then I would have to accept. But I don’t believe that Daikin would produce lower quality than 2.5 years ago model and FYI, this unit is just next to by bed (less than 1 meter away).
4. I’m surprise that Daikin not providing the rubber mounting, and if so Daikin should spec the type of the rubber to use because if the rubber mounting is not correctly selected, the damage will be Daikin company because the unit would have less usage time unless Daikin don’t care as it would pass the guarantee time anyway.
Please let me know of your decision as soon as possible because it’s more than 2 months already.
