There were two issues of concern relating to knee extension peak torque in this study. Firstly, TRE in the control group was greater than the experimental group at baseline. However, when the baseline data (BMI and TRE) were included as covariates, two-way repeated measures ANOV A revealed no significant difference in transformed TRE between groups. With these covariates, there were interaction effects of both baseline data on transformed TRE, indicating that BMI and baseline TRE influenced changes of TRE over time. In addition, both groups developed greater TRE at the 12th week although a significant level was not detected. Secondly, there was an inconsistent change of TLE in both groups.
