HOME-BASED telemonitoring is nowadays one of the most interesting research areas within the scope of e-Health, motivated mainly by the growing population with chronic conditions and disabilities in western countries. It should be noted that more than a third of the population of Europe is affected with a chronic disease [1] and that the proportion of the population aged 60 or over is expected to reach almost 35% by 2050 in developed countries [2]. Therefore, the development of new ways of delivering medicine is strongly encouraged in order to avoid increases both in healthcare costs and waiting times in hospitals. More importantly, such a development is essential in order to improve patients’ quality of life, and optimize their independence and empowerment [3].
