Wherever possible, it’s great to encourage kids to eat whole grains, fruits and vegetables, low-fat dairy and protein, such as chicken or fish. Feed them less of the nutrient-poor items like chips, cookies or sugary drinks. Milk and water are good drink choices; but sometimes 100% fruit juice can be an alternative. Check to see what your host parents prefer.
