Total viable counts (TVC) were determined in plate count agar
by the method of Fan et al. (2008). Twenty-five grams of the salmon
muscle were aseptically weighed and homogenised with
225 ml of 0.85% normal sterile saline for 1 min using a Bag Mixer
(400VW, interscience, Bretèche, France). The homogenised sample
was serially diluted using 9 ml sterile saline for bacteriological
analysis.
