In order to assess the validity of the developed SI-AdSVA method, the determinations of Ade and Gua in pharmaceutical formulations were carried out.
3.4. Analytical application
Detection of purine nucleobases is an essential tool to investigate a variety of physiological and pathophysiological metabolic pathways from molecular pathology to environmental or forensic sciences. Great interest exists in the sensitive determination of these compounds and their derivatives in a number of pharmaceutical formulations.
The recovery tests of Ade in the solutions of two commercial dosage forms are given in Table 3. As it well known, the first drug, adenine tablets, stimulates hematogenesis and inhibits aggregation of platelets. Second one, Faglucid, is used as a hemoconservant. The analytical results were in good agreement with the values indicated in the instruction booklets.
