Fuel consumption measurements showed a significantly higher consumption for the ethanol
bus as compared with the reference diesel bus. The fuel consumption of the ethanol bus
during the period November 2008 to September 2009 was 109 litres per 100 km which was
larger by a factor of 1.6 than the fuel consumption of the diesel bus (68 l/100km). This factor
exceeds the expected value caused by the difference of the energy value of ED95 and
diesel
