Three questions concerning supervisor autonomy were
developed and modeled after the construct of decision
latitude, a factor included in the Job Content Questionnaire
[32]. The three questions asked supervisors to rate their
flexibility to recommend specific job accommodation,
make decisions about workplace accommodation, and
‘‘have a say’’ in employer decisions about workplace
accommodation. This measure of autonomy has been
shown to be valid and reliable for use in the supervisor
population (Cronbach’s a equal to 0.81).
