Some still value low- level training coupled with a moral reformist view, like the original industrial trainers. Others favour broader forms of education and competency, and lack the moral, reformist zeal. The former will be identified politically wiyh the new Right in Britain, which favours basic skill training (Back-to-basics) as well as ‘instruction in obedience’ (White, 1968, quoted in Beck, 1981, page 89 ).
