Crassula argentea cv.'Hummel's Sunset' is a cultivar of the South African Crassula argentea. Forms an arborescent shrub to 6' in height or more with a branching,thck elephantine trunk. Leaves are largely yellow with a red margin and the centers of the leaves are a bright green. In dormancy, leaves are bright yellow blushed with red. Masses of white star-shaped flowers in winter months. The jade plant is a popular subject for bonsai training due to the inherent gnarly character of the thickened trunk and the ease with which it can be pruned and trained. An excellent plant for brightly lit areas in the house, patio and in more temperate climes can be planted in the garden or landscape. Porous soil with adequate drainage. Bright light to full sun. Water thoroughly when soil is dry to the touch. Protect from frost.
