Coffee shocks - I know the United States is the home of the globally famous coffee chain called Starbucks. But Australia is also home to 6,500 independently owned cafes that serve the finest Italian espresso, day in and day out. It’s the sweet additives that made Starbucks coffee in the United States at least drinkable to the Aussie palette, but forget about finding that perfect flat white espresso over here. Selling coffee that tastes like that, no wonder Starbucks just couldn't make it in Australia. Still, their prevalence and free Wi-Fi kept us turning up time and time again, ordering a different version of ‘coffee milkshake’ each time.
