The chloride removal efficiency by C. pyrenoidosa and S. abundans
in raw sample and autoclaved sample is presented in
Fig. 5a and b. The batch studies conducted in raw sample
using C. pyrenoidosa (Fig. 5a) with the inoculum size of 10%
and 20% showed the chloride removal of 91% and 86%,
respectively, whereas, in autoclaved sample with 10% inoculum
size, it was observed as 88%. Similarly for S. abundans
(Fig. 5b) the chloride removal efficiency was observed as
85% and 91% for raw samples with inoculum size of 10%
