Attached technical bulletin is a description of resolving the problem we are facing now. However, as mentioned, SPV requires 1 month to get those parts in the technical kit ready as the technical bulletin was created not long ago, and SPV is in the process of purchasing the parts.
Solution 1 proposed by Maxcrane:
This is a very likely option for us to adopt, since the lead time for the technical kit will take 1 month. We can install the boom wire ropes first and deliver to customer, subsequently, we can arrange a recall for all SPS 16000 crane. Referring to the technical bulletin, new boom wire ropes will be replaced, so we have less to worry about wire ropes sustaining damage during this time of usage.
Solution 2 proposed by Maxcrane:
End-user will have to wait a long time and results in downtime for end-user.
Solution 3 proposed by Maxcrane:
To modify the crimping part of the wire rope by 20mm will affect the strength of the wire rope assembly. Not advisable as SPV cannot be held responsible should any mishap happen during the period of usage.
In the meantime, Palfinger Singapore will work out with SPV on the proposed recall for SPS 16000, regarding the parts and labour. I shall provide constant updates on this. For now, may I have your feedback, if we arrange a recall on SPS 16000.
