NURSING CONSIDERATIONS
Assessment
Assess respiratory status: rate , rhythm ; increase in bronchial secretions , wheezing , chest
Tightness ; provide fluids to 2L/day to decrease secretion thickness
Assess for allergy symptoms : pruritus , urticaria , watering eyes , baseline , during treatment
Nursing diagnoses
Airway clearance , ineffective (uses)
Injury , risk for (side effects)
Knowledge , deficient (teaching)
Noncompliance (teaching overuse)
