But, before you do that. Can you put the basic floorplan from Shanghai into Illustrator. I use layers for floorplans (see the attached VN Floorplan). Bottom layer is the floorplan – which has any doors, windows, columns, etc. I put a 5’ x 5’ grid into that layer so that I can get a sense of scale when laying in the furniture. Next, I draw in the furniture – desks, shelves, conference table, work table, etc. Then I lay in display systems – where I want things like products lines, display systems, etc. So for this floorplan, can you start by drawing in the bottom layer and then draw a template for the desks, and conference tables and bookshelves. You’ll see how it was done in Vietnam so follow suit. But do not copy what they did on the shelving units or desks or conference tables as they made everything smaller and didn’t advise. Why? I don’t know why. We made our desks oversize so two people could work together. I guess they figured the desks weren’t necessary to be that size, but they did so without telling me and they didn’t understand the culture behind that decision. Remember that everything we do relates to culture. Culture of the company, the product, the experience we have in our spaces, the experience kids have with our products. In the end, it’s all about how we feel. So understand that by working with us, you’re striving to work towards an emotional experience when it comes to design and that’s tricky. So be prepared for a lot of analysis!
