Asia's first world's fair was held in Osaka, Japan. It reflected Japan's resurgent culture after World War II.
Known for it's experimental architecture, the exposition provided a glimpse into magnetic levitation trains and mobile phone technology. The Fuji Group's pavilion hosted the first-ever IMAX film.
Japan would later host Expo '75 in Okinawa, Expo '85 in Tsukuba, and Expo 2005 outside Nagoya.
